Charity Vintage Tea Party and Sale of Work

posted in: News and Updates | 0

I’m hosting a Charity vintage tea party and sale of work between 2pm and 4pm on Sunday 17 August at 49 Abbeyhill Close, Ashgate, Chesterfield S42 7JL. Donations for tea and cake, a raffle and handmade goodies to buy.

All proceeds will go to the Beachy Head Chaplaincy Team. I hadn’t even heard of this charity until my son showed me a heartfelt post on Facebook from his friend, Emily, requesting support for this charity following the sad loss of a loved one.

They are the charity saving the lives of the suicidal at Beachy Head. They specialise in Crisis Intervention and Search and Rescue. The team is made up largely of volunteers. As a Search and Rescue unit amazingly they average over 760 searches per annum resulting in over 270 rescues each year since 2009. I honestly couldn’t believe the statistics and their website makes interesting reading. http://www.bhct.org.uk/wp/category/searches-and-incidents/

Funds are required for such things as kitting the volunteers out and providing vehicle cover for the cliff top patrols. I appreciate that we all get lots of requests for donations to charity but it would be lovely to see you for tea and cake to lend your support for the very important work this charity carries out.
